Underfloor Heating for your Kitchen, Bathrooms and Conservatories.

ECOFLOOR Underfloor Heating Mat

ECOFLOOR electric underfloor heating mats are made of a heating cable attached to a fibreglass mesh scrim. The mat can simply be rolled out onto the floor, making installation quick and easy. The mats come complete with double-sided tape on the underside so they can easily be fixed to any clean surface. Our electric underfloor heating mats are available in two standard power ratings: 150 Watt mats for internal applications including kitchens and bathrooms and 200 Watt mats for conservatory use or areas where high heat losses can occur.

Some Benefits of The Underfloor Heating Mat

  • Loose wire systems can be shaped to suit the shape of the room that you’re laying heating in, which is great if you’re working with any tricky dimensions.
  • With electric underfloor heating, you get a radiant warmth that is transmitted upwards from the floor, rather than the warmth being circulated around the room like you’d get with a conventional radiator. This means that with an effectively installed electric system, you won’t get cold spots.
  • Electric underfloor heating is widely considered the go-to solution for standalone rooms if you’re not planning to upgrade the central heating system throughout your whole property. This is because the system doesn’t need to be connected back to a central manifold, so it’s straightforward to install in one room without any disruption in other areas of the house.
  • With no radiators on your walls, you will find that your rooms now have that extra bit of space and remove any restrictions that a radiator can pose on the layout of your rooms. This will also be especially noticeable if you decide to decorate a room, without having to work around radiators.

The other side of the story

  • The initial cost of installing some underfloor heating systems can be higher than other heating systems, depending on the size of the room it is being fitted in. As well the cost for the underfloor heating, you will also need to consider the fitting of it, additional items such as thermostats and insulation boards, and also the cost of an approved electrician to wire the system to your mains supply.
    • Another potential cost to think about is removing and replacing the existing flooring if installing in an existing property rather than a new build.
  • Depending on whether you are having underfloor heating installed in a new build property or an existing room or property, you will need to consider the upheaval of emptying the rooms so that under the floor can be accessed for installation, this could also mean that the room is inaccessible during this time, although electric underfloor heating systems are usually quite quick to install.
